SMARTCOMMUNITY: Building on the concept of Smart Villages towards a transnational and EUSALP-integrated Smart Community in the Alps (Novembre 2022-Ottobre 2025)

Lavorare a stretto contatto con tutte le aree test a livello di EUSALP, facilitando l’adozione del concetto di comunità intelligente nelle politiche regionali, nazionali ed europee e promuovendo il senso di una comunità alpina strutturata con sfide e visioni comuni;

Sviluppare nuovi strumenti digitali per facilitare le attività di condivisione, networking e coinvolgimento degli amministratori locali e della popolazione per trovare soluzioni digitali innovative e personalizzate a livello locale;

SMARTCOMMUNITY: Building on the concept of Smart Villages towards a transnational and EUSALP-integrated Smart Community in the Alps (November 2022-October 2025)

The SmartCommUnity project is dedicated to advancing Alpine rural areas by harnessing the full potential of digitalization, steering them through smart transitions, and fostering the development of a cohesive transnational community within EUSALP AG5 Smart Alps.
Interactive and user-friendly digital tools enhancing transnational matchmaking and leading-by example will empower new areas to follow more advanced areas, and territories will develop a community approach to create smarter, greener, more sustainable, resilient, and attractive rural areas.

Key Objectives of the SmartCommUnity Project:

  • Innovative Smart Transitions: The project endeavors to experiment with innovative solutions for the smart transition of designated test areas. By serving as a catalyst for change, it aims to inspire partner regions and other Alpine areas to adopt similar transformative practices.
  • Closely work with all Test Areas at EUSALP level: SmartCommUnity commits to closely collaborating with all Test Areas at the EUSALP level. This collaboration extends beyond regional borders, facilitating the incorporation of smart community concepts into regional, national, and European policies. The ultimate goal is to create a sense of unity within the Alpine community, fostering a shared vision and addressing common challenges.
  • Digital Tools for Community Building: The project will spearhead the development of cutting-edge digital tools designed to facilitate matchmaking, networking, and engagement activities. These tools are geared towards identifying locally-tailored and community-led smart solutions, creating a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
  • Changing Perceptions and Communication: SmartCommUnity is committed to shifting perceptions and cultivating a smart vision for the Alps. By effectively communicating the opportunities and tangible results, the project aims to extend its impact beyond the Alpine region, encouraging more areas to actively participate and contribute to the collective smart evolution.
